図６から分かるように、ベラルーシの青年・成人集団の放射線被ばく起因の甲状腺癌の最初のケースは、
1988年、すなわちチェルノブイリ事故から既に現れていたことが我々の分析で示されている。つまり、青年・成人集団の被曝起因の甲状腺癌の
最小潜伏期間は、今まで集積された知見で予想されるような10年ではなく、2年であることが意味されている。

As can be seen from Table 6, the first radiation-induced thyroid cancer in the group of adolescents
and adults of Belarus, according to our assessment, manifested already in 1988 or 2 years after the
Chernobyl accident. This means that the minimal latency period of radiation-induced thyroid cancers by
this category is about 2 years and not 10 years later as could be expected on the basis of an experience
accumulated previously.
